Similarly, on Monday early evenings (7.00 to 8.00pm), there is an open access session in the committee room.  We will be there to assist you with guidance for either specific or general help with computers.  We bring along the laptops for you to use (with Windows Vista), but if you would prefer to bring your own laptop with you instead, that is fine.

Why should it be needed?

How about paying your car tax online?  Doing your repeat prescriptions online? Looking up about great grandma’s disreputable past?  Then there are all the online shopping opportunities – window shop – or order, check out the prices before you buy.  We want to give everyone the opportunity to realise that computers are not frightening, they are a tool that you can use as and when you want it.

Do your homework, or look up about legal issues, or health issues, bring a memory stick and save it, or just come each week to remind yourself  – it is completely up to you.

In the future…

If the need is there – and we can get the volunteers to run it - we could run sessions at different times of day.  If you are a village organization, and want to use these facilities to add an activity to your calendar, contact us, these laptops are for all the community when needed.  Or maybe classes could be set up, short courses on different things, not exam ones, but just friendly little interest groups on things that YOU want.  Let us know what YOU want……..
