Aims of the Club and Officers' roles.

Aims of the Club

• To enable members to socialise and to offer a varied list of Speakers, Activities and Outings (Mystery Trips by coach) from July – September.

• To always respect each other’s point of view and offer a friendly and cheerful welcome to all visitors and members.

• Through the Club, members would take an active part in the Village Community and beyond.

• Fundraising for the Club – Members would bring a raffle prize to all meetings unless otherwise advised.  £1.00 for a cup of tea and a raffle ticket.

• The meetings would generally held on the first Wednesday of every month –October – May  We meet at 2.30 p.m. in the Village Hall. unless otherwise advertised or advised.

• The subscriptions would be £8 per year, which would be assessed annually at the A.G.M

• NEW MEMBERS - Prospective New Members would be invited to come along and participate for three meetings before committing to full membership.

• Committee - There would be a Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, minute Secretary and three other elected members.

Roles of the Officers: 

• Chair, would book speakers and organise activities and projects. 

• Vice Chair, would assist with this. 

• Treasurer, keeper of the Club’s purse would present a detailed balance sheet at the end of the Club’s financial  year.    

• Minute Secretary, would take the minutes of the meetings and to book outings and venues for the summer mystery trips.

• Cheques to be signed by 2 signatures i.e. Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer or Secretary

• It would be presumed that an elected member from the Wednesday Social Club serves as Representative on the Village Hall Committee.

• The Annual General Meeting would be normally held on the 1st meeting in April and subscriptions would be due and taken then.  Publication of intention to hold an A.G.M. should be advertised 3 weeks in advance.
