The MSA Friendly Art Group meets up twice a month, on second and fourth Wednesdays, at the Milborne St Andrew Village Hall between 7 – 9 pm, either in the Main Room or Committee Room.

The Group has been running since January 2008 and now has 17 members.  All members assist with setting up and putting away of tables and chairs and there are refreshments freely available which they can help themselves to.  We also bring along a choice of easy listening music to add to the atmosphere and to aid the artistic flow.

Each member works on their chosen art project and brings along their own equipment, props, photos or still life they require.  Members really enjoy their dedicated ART time together with like minded people and to have time to chat and exchange technical advice and ideas.

The Membership Fees are £5 per year (Jan to Jan) with an additional £3 per session.  There is no regular tutor, however, we do have the occasional visiting local Artist come along to either do a hands-on Workshop or provide a Demonstration in a chosen medium or on artistic techniques.  We also have an occasional Life Model.  These special sessions are OPEN TO NON MEMBERS as well as members at a cost of £6 each but prior arrangements is needed if you are considering coming along to one of these special session and you should contact Sue Marsh Tel:  837414.

We have recently been given a selection of art books and have several on loan to the Group which we have now set up in our MSA Art Library.  Books are loaned out to members at a nominal fee.  There are some tentative plans to have an Art Exhibition possibly in 2009 to show some of the work done by members but in the meantime there are some pieces of work to be seen on our Gallery page.  Any queries or purchase enquiries should be directed initially to Sue Marsh.
